Mei long skeletal

La ricostruzione ( come ho riportato nell' immagine) è basata sull' olotipo IVPP V12733 : uno scheletro di un esemplare giovane quasi completo e totalmente articolato che, probabilmente , è stato colpito nel sonno da un' improvvisa catastrofe naturale. lo scheletro, infatti, è stato ritrovato in una posizione molto simile a quella che gli uccelli moderni assumono quando dormono.Le poche parti mancanti dello scheletro sono state ricostruite sulla base di altri trodoontidi insettivori come Jinfengopteryx.

The reconstruction (as I have shown in the picture) is based on holotype IVPP V12733: a fully articulated and nearly complete skeleton of a young specimen, that probably was hit by a sudden natural disaster. the skeleton, in fact, was found in a position very similar to modern birds take when they sleep. The few missing parts of the skeleton have been reconstructed on the basis of other insectivorous troodontids as Jinfengopteryx.
